If you haven't read Spin and like sci-fi at all, you should definitely read it. Incredibly great book, with some truly beautiful ideas.

The second book in the series wasn't that great, but Vortex makes up for it. Not quite as good as Spin, it still manages to stand on it's own/5().

Polar Vortex is an exciting book with numerous twists and turns. The suspense is never ending, keeping the reader glued to the page. The reader never knows what is coming next and is surprised to find that what they thought they knew wasn't what they thought/5().

The Vortex (Spanish: La Vorágine) is a novel written in by the Colombian author José Eustasio is set in at least three different bioregions of Colombia during the rubber novel narrates the adventures of Arturo Cova, a hot-headed proud chauvinist and his lover Alicia, as they elope from Bogotá, through the eastern plains and later, escaping from criminal misgivings.

Vortex, by Larry Bond, was an excellent book, both because of its well thought out plot and its immersive style of storytelling. More often than not, the reader finds himself absorbed by the story that the real world fades away, and pulling yourself out of this reverie is almost an impossible task.4/5(64)."Masters of The Vortex" is a departure for "Doc" Smith and for the Lensman series.

Definitely in the Lensman Universe the main protagonist is not a Lensman. Placement in the series is problematic. Most often it is placed as book seven (last) in the series, some as book six of seven, others exclude it entirely/5(50)."With John Charles Chasteen's translation of The Vortex, José Eustasio Rivera's seminal novel about the geographical vastness and mystical power of the Amazonian jungle and the heartless exploitation of its riches and its inhabitants should garner new fans in the English-speaking en's restrained yet evocative lyricism succeeds in breathing vibrant new life into Rivera's depiction.
